You’re welcome here
Relational therapy for adolescents and adults in Austin, Texas that is compassionate and trauma-informed. Available in person and virtually across Texas.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Carl Rogers
You deserve to feel happy, healthy, and understood.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck in the same patterns, more low or irritable than you want to be, or noticing reactions that feel hard to understand or control, I’m really glad you’re here. How exhausting and frustrating that must feel!
These experiences are often connected to how the nervous system adapts to stress and past experiences. These patterns can stay with us even when they’re no longer helpful in the present.
In our work together, we focus on building safety and connection first. We slow things down and pay attention to what’s happening in both your mind and body so you can start to understand your patterns with more clarity and less self-blame.
We can focus on practical tools, deeper trauma work, or both, depending on what feels most helpful for you. You deserve meaningful support... so let me introduce myself!

Hi, I’m Marilyn.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and families in Austin, Texas. I work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. I believe deeply in people’s inherent worth and in the role that safe, supportive connection can play in healing.
Therapy with me is gentle, collaborative, and exploratory. Together, we build emotional awareness and acceptance so you can relate to your inner experience with more clarity and less struggle.
(She/Her)
I integrate mindfulness and somatic strategies alongside Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I take an inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive approach. I am attentive to how systems, relationships, and lived experience shape mental health and the way we understand ourselves. My goal is to offer a grounded, caring space where you feel understood, supported, and able to move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
Areas of Focus:
Developmental and complex trauma
Anxiety and panic
Grief and loss
Perinatal and postpartum concerns
Life transitions and emerging adulthood
Parent coaching and parent–child relationship support
Clients I often work with include:
LGBTQIA+ individuals
Trauma survivors
People-pleasers and over-functioners
Eldest daughters and parentified adults
Millennials and Gen Z adults
Burnt out or overwhelmed parents
You deserve a place to slow down, process, and heal.
Understand what's really going on beneath the surface, and begin responding to yourself and your life in a different way.

I usually suggest starting with weekly sessions so we can build consistency, trust, and momentum at the beginning of our work together. We can then adjust the frequency based on your needs, availability, and finances.
Over time, many clients naturally shift to biweekly or monthly sessions as they begin to feel more grounded and supported in their progress.
