Frequently Asked Questions
-
Therapy with me is supportive and collaborative! We will discuss what you are currently struggling with and your hopes/goals for therapy. We will check in regularly about if sessions are feeling right for you and your needs from the therapeutic space.
The therapeutic relationship is a way to practice giving and receiving feedback, asking for help, expressing needs, repairing ruptures, etc.
-
$160 for individual therapy session $175 for family therapy session
Sliding scale available.
-
I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna, and hope to accept United within the next 6 months.
-
I am not a crisis counselor, which means I am not available for immediate or after-hours support between sessions.
If you are in distress, I will always encourage you to reach out to appropriate crisis resources or supports in your life.
Part of our work together can also include building a strong support system and identifying resources you can rely on when things feel hard.
-
If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, kindly provide at least 24 hours notice. Cancellation and rescheduling requests after the 24 hours point will incur the full appointment fee. Discretion is used in emergency circumstances.
-
I don’t prescribe medication, but if that’s something you’re considering, I’m happy to talk through it with you and help connect you with appropriate resources or providers.
-
I work with adults and adolescents (typically ages 12+) in individual therapy, and also offer family therapy and parent support. I support a range of emotional, relational, and mental health concerns. I also provide EMDR therapy.
-
I usually suggest starting with weekly sessions so we can build consistency, trust, and momentum at the beginning of our work together. We can then adjust the frequency based on your needs, availability, and finances.
Over time, many clients naturally shift to biweekly or monthly sessions as they begin to feel more grounded and supported in their progress.
-
Submit my contact form to request your free 20 minute phone or virtual consultation. Once we’ve had a chance to chat and feel we’re a good fit for each other, we’ll schedule your first therapy appointment.
